On January 12, 2026, Professor Xiaosen Han, Dean of the School of Mathematics and Statistics at Henan University, led a group of faculty representatives on a friendly visit to our department for in-depth exchanges. The two sides engaged in extensive discussions on disciplinary development and experience sharing. Professor Jun Liu, Head of the Department of Statistics and Data Science at Tsinghua University and a member of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States, along with faculty and student representatives from the department, attended the meeting. The meeting was chaired by Professor Ke Deng, Deputy Head of the department.
During the meeting, Professor Jun Liu, on behalf of our department, extended a warm welcome to the delegation from the School of Mathematics and Statistics at Henan University. He provided a detailed overview of our department's development history and recent achievements in disciplinary development, research innovation, and talent cultivation. Professor Xiaosen Han also shared insights into the recent progress of the School of Mathematics and Statistics at Henan University, highlighting its distinctive disciplinary development and experiences in educational and teaching reform. Faculty and students in attendance engaged in discussions on various topics, including cutting-edge disciplinary developments, curriculum design, research collaboration, and student development. They also explored potential directions for future cooperation between the two institutions.
