On May 8th，2018, undergraduates from Business School of Suffolk University of the United States visit the center. Prof. Ke Deng, Prof. Yu Zhu, Prof. Lijian Yang communicate with the students as the representatives of the faculty. Yingkai Jiang, Yang Yang, Zidong Wang and Yucong Lin show the colourful campus life to the visitors. 
On April 16th, 2018, Prof. Wing Hung Wong who serves on the faculty of Stanford University where he is currently Professor of Statistics, Professor of Biomedical Date Science, and holder of the Stephen R. Pierce Family Goldman Sachs Professorship in Science &Human Science& Human Health gives a talk at the reception hall, main building of Tsinghua University. Prof. Wong was the winner of the COPSS Presidents’ Award in 1993 and was elected to the US National Academy of Sciences in 2009. The talk’s title is Mini-batching in Markov Chain Monte Carlo inference.
On April 14, 2018, the Medical Big Data and Health Technology Evaluation Forum was held at Beijing Wenjin International Hotel. The forum was jointly sponsored by the Medical Big Data Center of the Statistics Research Center of Tsinghua University and the National Health Health Committee Key Laboratory of Health Technology Evaluation (Fudan University) and co-organized by Analysis Group, a strategic partner of the Statistical Research Center of Tsinghua University. The conference focused on the development and prospects of medical big data and health technology assessment in China, international frontier development and trends, and innovation research in related fields, and provided a platform for exchanges and sharing among experts and scholars from around the world in close connection with actual cases.

The American Statistical Association Joint Statistical Meeting was held from 29 July to 03 August at Baltimore. The center held a series of activities.
During the JSM, the center held a reception attracting more than 70 attendees. 
The Tsinghua Statistical Summer School 2017 was held from July 3 to 13 at Tsinghua University. The Center for Statistical Science of THU invited overseas famous statisticians to teach theory, method and application of statistics and data science.
The event provided a platform for students and young statisticians to communicate and to broaden their horizon.
The opening ceremony of Branch for Statistical Computing, Chinese Association for Applied Statistics was held at Tsinghua University on March 19, 2017. Prof. Lin Hou chaired the meeting.
Director of Chinese Association for Applied Statistics Zhi Geng, Secretary General of Chinese Association for Applied Statistics Weihu Cheng, and Vice-Director of Chinese Society of Probability and Statistics Liuquan Sun attended the ceremony and delivered speeches.
The First Symposium of the Branch was held after the ceremony, and five scholars and experts presented their recent researches.
On December 16, 2016, the First PKU-Tsinghua Colloquium on Statistics was held at Beijing International Center for Mathematical Research. The colloquium serves as an important platform for the professors and students of Peking University and Tsinghua University. It aims to promote exchanges and cooperation between these two schools, as well as the development of the discipline. More than 200 professors and students attended the colloquium, and it was co-organized by the Center for Statistical Science of Peking University, Center for Statistical Science of Tsinghua University, School of Mathematical Sciences of Peking University, and Beijing International Center for Mathematical Research.
Professor Bin Yu, member of the National Academy of Science, from UC-Berkeley and Professor Jun S. Liu from Harvard University delivered keynote speeches.
After the Speech, the students presented their work in poster and communicated with professors actively.
The Center and its strategic partner Analysis Group, one of the largest economic consulting frms in medical health, have set up a Medical Big Data Center to support the increasing demand for medical big data research. Around 100 honored guests in medical science, academia, industry and government attended the signing ceremony and the center inauguration ceremony held on October 30, 2016. The Analysis Group executive director Dr. Wu Qiong made keynote speech. Tsinghua University Vice President You Zheng attended the conference.
The Center for Statistical Science hosted a “Summer Camp for Outstanding Undergraduates”, July 13-16, 2016, to provide for top undergraduate students keen on furthering their study of Statistics and Data Science a venue for broadening their academic perspectives, and learning of the state-of-the-art in research.
During the 3 days of activities, students interacted in depth with world renowned statisticians and industrial elite, both domestic and overseas, and learned of the latest in Statistics and Data Science research, industrial applications, and vision of future development. A the conclusion of the Camp activities, 8 participants were awarded “Excellent Summer Camp Participant Prize”, locked in early for the Center’s “Exam free admission to Ph.D. program” 2017 quota.
On May 30, 2016, Prof. Yu Bin, Member of the American Academy of Sciences and Professor of the Department of Statistics at UC Berkeley, visited the Center for Statistical Science, and had a deep talk with the faculties and students of the center. Prof. Yu Bin is the tenured professor of statistics and electrical engineering department at UC Berkeley, she is also the Chancellor’s Professor.
On the afternoon, Prof. Yu Bin delivered a talk entitled Statistics is a Pillar of Data Science, there are about 150 students and teachers came to listen this report, giving positive responses.
