Position Title: Postdoctoral Research Fellow

Duties & Responsibilities: We are seeking one motivated and creative applicant with quantitative research background in bioinformatics, computational biology, statistics, biostatistics or computer science to join an active and collegial research team at Cleveland Clinic.

Our team has access to “big data” from multiple platforms, including various omics data (WGS, mitochondrial sequencing, metabolomics, epigenetics, etc.), electronic health records and well-annotated clinical phenotypes. The candidate’s responsibilities involve developing novel statistical methods, machine learning algorithms and computational tools to identify disease biomarkers and networks, build predictive models and discover new therapeutic interventions. The postdoc will have great opportunities to collaborate with physicians and scientists at the Cleveland Clinic.  Drs Serpil Erzurum and Bo Hu will mentor the postdoc and provide necessary support to help in the transition to an independent researcher.

Position Qualifications: The applicant should have a Ph.D. degree in one of the following areas: Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Statistics, Biostatistics, Computer Science, or other discipline with strong quantitative background. Knowledge in biology or genetics is desired but not required. The candidate should be familiar with program languages R, Perl or Python. Experience with C/C++ is a strong plus.

Salary Range: Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualification. Benefits will be in accordance with Cleveland Clinic standard postdoctoral benefits
